I am greatly concerned about the steady erosion of the America I was born into and the polarization of society. I used to think liberals were a healthy balance to our culture and now I see what they have done to America and other cultures throughout the world. I fear we are at the doorstep of another civil war and it will be a repeat of the Weimar Republic where conservative Christian capitalist battle socialist unionist through the streets of Germany for years.

Those Still Asleep
Comment by RegT from TL in exile......................
"And so it goes. A man on a progressive talk show continues the Progressive meme: re-write history, redefine truth until those who listen to his drivel no longer know the truth. Jefferson _may_ have been speaking of revolutions everywhere, including in France, but his words were meant for what he held dear and fought for: America.
TL is correct that the words are true whether spoken by Jefferson or Ann Romney, whether about France or America, whether in the 1700's or in 2012. But it is also important not to allow the Left to re-write history, to create New Speak where they redefine our language to mean the opposite of what it once meant, until no man knows where we came from or what is truly important.
The Left, as through Marshall McLuhan, claims the medium is the message, just as the Left has claimed that the ends justify the means. They use it as a weapon, however. The pen can indeed be mightier than the sword, to destroy as well as to defend. For too long we have allowed the Left to teach our children that the Judeo-Christian values taught in our churches, synagogues and homes are not true. That has to be stopped. We need to speak out when they pervert our language and the truths, the moral values that make us a moral people - the only kind of people for whom a Constitutional Republic will work.
There will be those who will deride Ann Romney's speech, claiming it means nothing simply because she is the wife of a politician, one running for President. As TL has stated, her message stands on its own, irrespective of whose mouth it issues from, because it is true, true to what America was meant to stand for. The message is the _message_, no matter what the medium of transmission.
There was a time when I felt that an Obama was necessary, that it would require violence and strife to move America back onto the tracks that were laid when the country was founded. I think we all - especially those who seem to look forward to the conflict - have underestimated how bad that conflict will be when it happens, though. If it must happen now - or never - then let it be. When our women and children suffer we will not be so glad of our chance to restore liberty, if it be possible, but I will nonetheless do what I can to aid in a restoration.
Just realize that Obama with another four - or more - years to wreck America will do just that. He may very well damage us so badly that restoration is no longer possible. When Churchill wrote this quote, he might have been speaking of an Obama dictatorship:
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves."
I would like to think that electing Romney instead of allowing it to fall to Obama might give us one of the other two possibilities spoken of by Churchill. With Obama, I am afraid it will be the last scenario that we are faced with."
